Vandy VanWagener has over thirty years of experience across a wide range of consumer-oriented industries, geographies and roles. His experience spans from P&G to start-ups, from domestic to Asia … and from Brand Manager to CEO. His core expertise is in marketing, innovation and management development.

Vandy started his career in P&G’s US Brand Management operations, served as Brand Manager on key brands such as Ivory and Downy. He then rose to run Marketing for one of their then five Divisions, where he had 17 brands, 70 marketers, 8 agencies and over $1B in sales. In 1988, Vandy transferred to Singapore/Malaysia where he led P&G’s startup there as General Manager. This was followed by a transfer to Japan as Vice President, where he ran the Asia-Pacific skin care and cosmetics business, a key growth area for the company.

Subsequent to P&G, Vandy returned to the US as CEO of an internet start-up (InfoBeat) which spawned both an IPO of the B2B division and sale of the consumer division to a leading media company. In addition, he served as CEO of a database monitoring start-up which was sold to a security services firm, and Managing Director of an email marketing boutique, where he focused on customer development and consulting services.

Most recently, Vandy co-founded Evergreen Innovation Partners, a new business model designed to tap into the Open Innovation trend. EIP’s role is to identify promising innovations in the consumer space, invest in developing them to market-readiness, and typically exiting via licensing to branded manufacturers. The company has also spun off two of its most promising innovations into a NewCo which is commercializing them directly.

Vandy graduated from Dartmouth College with an AB in mathematics, followed by an MBA at the Amos Tuck School. He has served on several Boards, including Information Resources Inc., Restorative Therapies Inc., Cakebread Cellars, and PhatRat.
